»Project 2. Burg Namedy. Transfer«
Every building is a space. It has its own measures and consists of the variety of different elements, such as doors, windows, walls … And namely the door is the entrance to this particular space, it has deep meaning, as a symbol of the transition from one space to another.
„Project 2. Burg Namedy. Transfer” is kind of transferring a part of the building in both physical and metaphorical sense and creation of the open, imaginary space which is displayed in the form of temporary interactive installation - art work in public space.
The structure of the building (ground floor) was taken as a basis of this project. Thereby the artist makes a three-dimensional transfer of the plan of the building into the nature (park) and places only the doors in the concrete places according to the plan. Since then, people become a part of this installation, they can participate, interact, play, imagine and perceive.
Two doors were taken from the castle, and the rest was brought by the locals from their neighbouring houses.
„Project 2. Burg Namedy. Transfer” is not only a reminder about the extraordinary history of the building, it is also a certain piece of reality which blurs the boarders between build and imagined, between past, present and future. It gives a possibility to touch the kind of the inside of the building, and now it become real for everyone to see".
